Arts are one of the most effective ways to inspire, impact, and create change in todays society. We bridge the gap between creativity and social impacts in our society.
Our Organization
The Institute for Artistic Sociology is a umbrella organization that inspires different projects and missions that intertwine history, sociology and political issues with the arts. Our debut project, Echoes of Prince George’s, records and documents local history directly from seniors in Prince George’s County. By capturing their direct quotes we transform unique memories into verbatim musical scores across genres like Broadway, R&B, jazz, and blues etc. Our youth ensemble will bring these finished verbatim songs into local elementary schools, running creative workshops that teach children their neighborhood’s history through musical composition. Then during the spring/summer season we will perform an original musical written and performed by students in PG county in order to spread their stories and our history.

We are actively looking for students and mentors who would love to participate in this project and join our advisory board in order to help us to embrace culture, and preserve the historical truth of our community.
